UK Offshore Marine Area

The UK's offshore marine area is defined in the Offshore Marine Conservation (Natural Habitats, & c.) Regulations, 2007 (as amended) but has been updated to reflect the UK marine area as stated in the Marine & Coastal Access Act 2009 (as amended).

The UK offshore marine area consists of:
(a) any area of sea within the limits of the exclusive economic zone, but excluding the area of sea within the seaward limits of the territorial sea adjacent to the United Kingdom; and
(b) the area of sea within the limits of the UK sector of the continental shelf, so far as not falling within the area mentioned in (a).
